Product description

Meaningful fermentation tests are an essential prerequisite for efficient biogas production. These tests allow the microbiological processes and the degradation characteristics of new substrates to be described and optimized. The execution of fermentation tests is defined, among others, in VDI Guideline 4630.

With the GärOnA system, both batch and continuous fermentation tests can now be carried out fully automatically.

The system minimizes the pressure range in the fermentation vessels, which has a positive effect on the solubility equilibrium of methane, carbon dioxide, and other gas components in the liquid phase.

During depressurization, a biogas sample is automatically taken from the respective vessel and transferred to a gas chromatograph for detailed analysis. This enables precise monitoring of changes in methane production as well as the time profile of methane formation rates.

The fully automated GärOnA laboratory system allows particularly simple, accurate, and information-rich investigations of anaerobic digestion processes and provides comprehensive, high-quality data for biogas research and substrate development.
